For the home-based business owner your desk is the hub of your business. For some us it is the office. So we must treat our desk with the utmost respect and keep it organized at all times. Here are few tips to do so.
- Make your desk a pleasant place to be. Keep fresh flowers, candles and pictures of your loved ones where you see and enjoy them.
- Make your desk a motivation place. Keep your vision board and secret in clear eye sight.
- Work around your personal quirks. If you are a stacker use Literature sorters; If you are a scatter use paper sorter; If you are visual and you need see your projects use a desk top file organizer.
- Keep pens and pencils in their cups not strewn about the desk and drawers.
- Use the areas that came pre-built on your desk for files and CDs. They’ll also hold post-it notepads and other items off the main part of the desk to give you more space.
- If you don’t need it, toss it.
- Do a daily 5 minute tidy up … throw out anything you don’t need and straighten out papers and put away anything that might have gathered itself on the desk during the day.
- Be creative, organization doesn’t have to be boring you can use creative and crafty ways to be more organized and even make new things to help consolidate the space on your desk.
